Indiana IAR CE: plan for 2027
NASAA lists Indiana’s IAR CE requirement as effective in 2027. That listing alone does not create an Indiana 2026 CE obligation or erase a requirement from another jurisdiction.
Before deciding to enroll in 2026
The NASAA adoption map is the source for Indiana’s 2027 start. Review your registration history before choosing between these planning paths:
- Indiana only, no existing CE requirement: confirm your first reporting year with Indiana’s securities regulator before paying for CE intended for 2027.
- Registered in another CE jurisdiction: check any 2026 or older balance now. Indiana’s later start does not change that other registration.
- Returning after a registration ended: ask your firm about any existing deficiency rather than treating 2027 as a fresh record.
Can I take courses early and save the credit?
NASAA does not allow surplus CE credits to carry forward to a later year. Course IDs also matter across years: a repeat does not become new credit merely because the calendar changes. Do not assume a 2026 completion will satisfy a 2027 requirement.
If you owe CE now, use the FinPro course-selection guide. If you are preparing for a later obligation, start by reading the course IDs and subject areas and the free sample links on course detail pages.
Questions to resolve before the first reporting year
- Which registrations create an obligation, and in which year does yours begin?
- Are there earlier deficiencies or reported courses on your FinPro record?
- What completion date does your firm require?
- What reporting and renewal-processing dates apply to that year?
Use the NASAA regulator directory to reach Indiana’s securities regulator. The existing 2026 deadline guide is for 2026; it is not a 2027 processing schedule.
Quick answers
Does the Indiana listing mean I need Indiana CE in 2026?
No. NASAA lists Indiana as effective in 2027. Check separately for an existing requirement from another jurisdiction.
Can I bank excess credits for Indiana’s start?
No. NASAA’s FAQ says excess credits cannot carry forward to a subsequent year.
Can I review Gulfstream courses before my requirement begins?
Yes. Course details and free samples can help you compare topics and format. Confirm the appropriate reporting year and current course eligibility before purchasing.
