The principles for the media organization we are building and the work we intend to publish.
These standards do not imply an established newsroom or an independently governed editorial operation.
01
Accuracy & attribution
Identify who reported, photographed and reviewed a story. Verify names, event dates, locations and material facts before publication. Link to original sources when useful. Distinguish fact, analysis and opinion; identify uncertainty.
02
Photography & captions
Credit the creator and identify the original publication context. Captions should describe what is known, not infer identities or event details from an image. Keep an image’s event date separate from its publication date. Do not present prior individual portfolio work as a Gulfstream assignment.
03
Corrections
Readers can raise a concern through our corrections contact. Review substantive errors and, when corrected, label the change and its date on the affected story. Preserve context rather than silently changing a material fact.
04
Editorial & commissioned work
Clearly identify sponsored, advertising, affiliate and commissioned content. Commercial approvals must not be represented as independent editorial judgments. Disclose relevant ownership, business relationships, financial interests and other material conflicts, including Gulfstream’s investment-related activities.
05
Rights & event access
Check photographer ownership or licenses, participant permissions, venue terms and event-specific access and usage restrictions before publication. Obtain separate permissions where necessary for video, music, livestreaming, resale, advertising or sponsorship use. Do not publish credential badge images.
06
Privacy & minors
Use care with identifying details, vulnerable people and confidential information. Obtain appropriate permissions for youth projects and observe the relevant school or event rules. Do not use the public inquiry form for private documents or information about minors.
07
AI & image integrity
Human editorial review and fact-checking are required for AI-assisted research, transcription and editing. AI output is not a source. Do not fabricate reporting, captions or events. Label illustrations and meaningful synthetic alterations; do not present them as documentary photography.
08
Financial subjects
Clearly distinguish financial commentary from reporting and disclose relevant relationships or holdings. General information is not individualized investment advice. An editorial or production inquiry does not establish an advisory relationship. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
Accuracy is ongoing
