The matchup
Farragut travels to Bearden with a place in the district final on the line. The Bulldogs, the defending Class AAA state champions, took the regular-season meeting 3–0 on September 24. The Admirals arrive with something to prove.
Bearden comes in rested as the top seed. Farragut comes in with momentum and the confidence of a team that has spent the past few weeks sharpening its game. One evening, one result, and a trip to the championship for the winner.

Gulfstream Media to stream Farragut–Bearden District 4-AAA semifinal live
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., October 12, 2026 — Gulfstream Media will broadcast the District 4-AAA girls soccer semifinal between Farragut High School and Bearden High School live and free on its YouTube channel on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET at Bearden High School.
The broadcast brings families, alumni and fans who cannot be at the field a clear, dependable view of one of the season’s most meaningful games. The winner advances to the district championship.
“High school sport is where a community shows up for its own,” said a Gulfstream Media spokesperson. “We want every grandparent, classmate and former player to be able to watch these athletes compete, wherever they are.”
Storylines
- The standard-bearer. Bearden won the 2025 Class AAA state title, its fourth in five seasons, and head coach Ryan Radcliffe has guided the program to seven state championships. The Bulldogs also took the regular-season meeting 3–0 on September 24.
- A freshman in goal. Last year’s state tournament MVP, Bearden’s senior keeper, has been sidelined after a spring knee injury. Freshman Fallyn Baker has started every game since, and Bearden has allowed just 10 goals in 15 matches. Her duel with Farragut’s leading scorer is the matchup to watch.
- A blueprint on the road. West’s 2–1 win at Bearden this season ended the Bulldogs’ 13-game home winning streak, proof that this field can be won on.
- Farragut’s form. The Admirals reached the semifinal with a 1–0 quarterfinal win over Maryville on October 10 and arrive at 10–4–1, backed by a defense that kept eight clean sheets in the regular season.
“Bearden plays like a champion: compact between the lines, patient in possession, and organized enough to protect a young keeper by limiting clean looks rather than asking her to make miracle saves,” said Adam Tirgrath, Gulfstream Media soccer analyst. “Farragut’s answer is transition. If the Admirals win it high and find Ava Upshaw in the half-space before Bearden’s shape resets, the whole game tilts. Set pieces and the first goal will decide the game state, and with two programs this disciplined, one moment of quality may be all it takes.”
Players to watch
- Farragut
- Ava Upshaw, junior forward, is one of the most dangerous attackers in the state and a game-changing weapon on offense. She led the Admirals in both goals (10) and assists (6) in the regular season, building on a 15-goal campaign last year. Meghan Shimeall, sophomore, is among the team’s top creators. Emery Wylie anchors the back line in goal.
- Bearden
- Madi Bowlin, senior forward, is a four-year contributor, an All-District and All-Region selection and a Lubbock Christian commit. Kennedy Lucas, senior midfielder, steadies the middle of the field, and freshman goalkeeper Fallyn Baker has met every test so far.
Bearden’s emerging freshman class
Behind the veterans, Bearden’s freshman class is part of a promising young core. Alongside goalkeeper Fallyn Baker, freshmen Madelyn Nowinski, Avery Stevens, Reese Underwood and Brooklyn Sipos represent the next chapter of one of the state’s proudest programs.
The telecast will reach well beyond East Tennessee. Viewers from around the city are expected to tune in, including a private watch party of notable guests and soccer enthusiasts in Punta Cana.
